The Well House East
Chaldon
email
the owner
This amazing thatch and
stone cottage, originally two cottages, is thought to be some
400 years old. Occupied by the sculptress Elizabeth
Muntz from the 1930-60s, there is artistic influence throughout this
charming, sprawling residence. For the modernist there is central
heating throughout, while for the more traditional there is a log
burner in the inglenook fireplace. With its sympathetic extension to
the rear (providing a large family kitchen and diner), this cottage is the perfect blend of character and
comfort.
There is space to park 3
cars on
the driveway to the side of the house. The Well House sleeps 7 plus a cot and is off a lane from the village
green in the small rural village of East Chaldon. The sunny, sheltered
garden has a BBQ. From the cottage one can walk straight onto the
footpath to the coastal path lining the spectacular World Heritage
coast.
